Plaud launches a new AI pin and a desktop meeting notetaker

Hardware maker Plaud introduced the Plaude NotePin S, an updated AI notetaker, and a new desktop application designed for digital meeting note-taking, just before CES. The $179 NotePin S features a physical button for starting/stopping and highlighting recordings, includes various carrying accessories like a clip and lanyard, and adds Apple Find My support. Its core specs mirror the previous generation, offering 64GB storage and 20 hours of recording time, though it has a shorter range and battery life than the Note Pro. Plaud, which has sold over 1.5 million devices, is expanding its focus from in-person meetings to digital ones with its new desktop client. This app works across meeting platforms, automatically detecting active meetings to capture and structure AI transcriptions, and supports multimodal inputs like images and typed notes.
