Anthropic’s CEO stuns Davos with Nvidia criticism

Amodei expressed disbelief that chipmakers claim embargoes hinder them, warning the decision will harm U.S. national security. He emphasized the U.S.’s significant lead in chip technology and likened advanced AI models to a “country of geniuses,” suggesting that providing these capabilities to another nation is dangerous. He went so far as to compare the chip exports to selling nuclear weapons to North Korea.
