Operant AI targets ‘shadow’ AI agents with real-time security platform

Operant AI has introduced Agent Protector, a real-time security platform designed to address the security blind spot created by autonomous AI agents accessing sensitive enterprise data.

The platform provides continuous discovery of managed and unmanaged agents, inline behavioral threat detection, and least-privilege enforcement across cloud, SaaS, and development environments, aiming to give security teams visibility and control over the rapidly expanding agentic ecosystem. Key capabilities include real-time rogue agent intent detection, discovery of 'shadow agents' and their identities, secure enclaves for custom agents, cloud-native observability, and dynamic zero-trust enforcement based on agent intent and behavior.

This launch addresses growing concerns, as analysts predict significant enterprise adoption of task-specific AI agents, while experts warn of risks like data exfiltration due to agents having broad access and external communication capabilities. Operant AI CEO Vrajesh Bhavsar emphasized that Agent Protector offers the necessary real-time visibility and control to safely enable AI innovation as agents proliferate faster than security teams can track them.
