Tech workers at major companies like Microsoft, Google, and others report a "fear-based culture" where they are pressured to remain silent and focus solely on the corporate mission, especially concerning the Trump administration's immigration crackdown and ICE violence. Employees feel leadership's silence, contrasting sharply with past public stances on issues like Black Lives Matter, is a tacit endorsement of the administration's actions. Many workers are privately expressing dissent, signing petitions demanding CEOs publicly denounce ICE and cancel related contracts, and questioning the ethical future of the technology they are building, fearing it will become a tool for state repression.
