OpenClaw creator’s advice to AI builders is to be more playful and allow yourself time to improve

He explained that OpenClaw originated from his desire for a tool that didn't exist, prompting him to create it after realizing AI labs hadn't built what he needed by late last year. Steinberger found the tool particularly useful during a trip to Marrakesh where internet access was poor, highlighting the convenience of AI integrated with ubiquitous platforms like WhatsApp. He stresses that using AI effectively is a skill that takes time to develop, comparing it to learning guitar, and cautions against expecting immediate success with methods like "vibe coding."
