Google’s Nano Banana 2 brings advanced AI image tools to free users

Google is expanding access to its advanced AI image generation capabilities with the release of Nano Banana 2 (also known as Gemini 3.1 Flash Image) to all Gemini users. Previously, features like real-time information integration, web search image utilization, and accurate text rendering were limited to Nano Banana Pro subscribers. Nano Banana 2 offers faster, cheaper, and easier complex image generation, improved visual quality with vibrant lighting and sharper details, and greater control over image parameters like aspect ratio and resolution (up to 4K). It also maintains consistency for up to five characters and fourteen objects within a single image. While Nano Banana Pro remains available for specialized tasks for paid subscribers, Nano Banana 2 will be the default model across Gemini, Google Search, Lens, and Flow.
