Tools for Humanity (TFH), the startup behind World co-founded by Sam Altman, has released AgentKit, a beta verification tool aimed at securing agentic commerce—the practice of using AI programs to shop online.
AgentKit integrates with the x402 protocol, developed by Coinbase and Cloudflare, allowing websites to confirm that an AI agent's purchasing decisions are backed by a verified human. This verification relies on World ID, the most secure version of which is generated by scanning a user's iris using World's Orb device.
TFH Chief Product Officer Tiago Sada explained that this functions like granting "power of attorney" to an agent, enabling websites to trust transactions initiated by the AI. This move positions World to provide stability as major e-commerce and financial services increasingly adopt automated buying capabilities.
