Google’s Personal Intelligence feature is expanding to all US users

Google announced the expansion of Personal Intelligence, a feature allowing its AI assistant to tailor responses by accessing user data across Google services like Gmail and Google Photos, to all users in the U.S. Previously exclusive to paid subscribers, this feature is now available in AI Mode in Search, the Gemini app, and Gemini in Chrome for free-tier users. Personal Intelligence is designed to provide highly contextual help, such as suggesting specific tires based on recognizing road trip photos or creating tailored vacation itineraries by referencing hotel confirmations in Gmail and past memories in Google Photos. Google emphasizes that Personal Intelligence is off by default, requiring user consent, and clarifies that Gemini does not train directly on the content of the user's Gmail inbox or Google Photos library. This expansion is available for personal Google accounts but excludes Workspace business, enterprise, or education users.
