Gemini gets notebooks to help you organize projects

Google's Gemini AI chatbot is introducing a new feature called "notebooks" designed to help users organize information related to specific topics or projects. These notebooks can store files, past conversations, and custom instructions, which Gemini can then utilize as context during user interactions. This functionality is similar to ChatGPT's "Projects" feature. Google describes notebooks as personal knowledge bases that will eventually sync across Google products, starting with Gemini. Notably, Gemini's notebooks will also integrate with Google's NotebookLM AI research tool, allowing sources added in one app to appear in the other. The notebooks are rolling out this week on the web for subscribers of Google's AI Ultra, Pro, and Plus plans, with mobile and free user access expected in the coming weeks.
