Microsoft launches Scout, an OpenClaw-inspired personal assistant

Microsoft has launched Scout, a new personal AI assistant integrated into the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Built on the OpenClaw framework, Scout functions as an always-on, agentic assistant designed to adapt to specific user workflows and preferences over time. Users can personalize their instance of Scout, which performs tasks by leveraging persistent memories and user-defined skills.

To ensure enterprise safety, Scout includes a built-in policy conformance system that monitors agent behavior and provides audit trails, addressing concerns regarding the autonomy of AI agents. Available via Microsoft’s Frontier program, the tool requires a GitHub Copilot subscription and operates across cloud, desktop, and web environments to manage calendars, inboxes, and meeting agendas.
