Apple’s Image Playground doesn’t suck anymore

Apple has unveiled major upgrades to its Image Playground app during WWDC 2026 to address previous performance and quality shortcomings. The updated tool leverages Apple Intelligence to allow users to generate high-quality images and transform existing photos using natural language prompts. Key features include the ability to customize image dimensions for various professional and personal uses, as well as tighter integration across iOS for features like contact posters and lock screens. Notably, Apple emphasized user privacy, stating that images are processed via private cloud compute and are never stored or shared.
