Midjourney Medical goes from generating ‘cat images’ to full-body ultrasound scans

Midjourney CEO David Holz has introduced The Midjourney Scanner, a full-body ultrasound device developed in partnership with Butterfly Network. Designed to offer high-fidelity internal imaging of muscles, bones, and organs, the scanner uses a ring of sensors and ultrasonic waves to create detailed 3D images in approximately 60 seconds. The company plans to open a spa in San Francisco by 2027, where users can access these scans alongside traditional wellness amenities. While the technology currently focuses on body composition mapping, the long-term vision is to provide safe, fast, and frequent preventative health data, potentially rivaling MRI capabilities without the use of radiation or magnets.
