The film about Sam Altman has been dropped by Amazon MGM

Amazon MGM has reportedly dropped Artificial, a biographical film directed by Luca Guadagnino centered on the dramatic five-day period in 2023 when Sam Altman was fired and subsequently reinstated as CEO of OpenAI. The project, which had been in development for a year, features Andrew Garfield as Altman, Monica Barbaro as Mira Murati, Ike Barinholtz as Elon Musk, and Yura Borisov as Ilya Sutskever. In a statement, the studio suggested the film would be better served elsewhere and is helping the production team seek a new distributor. The decision comes amidst close business ties between Amazon and OpenAI.
