Daniel Moreno-Gama is facing federal charges for attacking Sam Altman’s home and OpenAI’s HQ

Daniel Moreno-Gama has been charged federally for allegedly traveling from Texas to California with the intent to kill OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. On April 10th, he was arrested after throwing a Molotov cocktail at Altman's home and attempting to break into OpenAI's headquarters, where he reportedly threatened to burn down the building and kill those inside. The charges include attempted property destruction with explosives and possession of an unregistered firearm. Authorities also found incendiary devices, kerosene, a lighter, and a document titled "Your Last Warning" that advocated against AI and for violence against AI company CEOs and investors. Moreno-Gama apparently sent a similar document via email to his former college, detailing his opposition to AI and listing names and addresses of AI executives and investors. The document also discussed the perceived existential risk of AI to humanity.
