Thinking Machines, the AI company founded by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, has unveiled its focus on developing "interaction models." These models are designed to move beyond the "single thread" limitation of current AI, which waits for input to be completed before processing. Instead, the new technology aims to continuously ingest audio, video, and text, allowing the AI to think, respond, and act in real time. The company argues that this will enable a more natural, "high-bandwidth" collaboration between humans and machines. While a limited research preview is expected in the coming months, the public will have to wait for a wider release later this year.
