Threads tests a Meta AI integration that works similarly to Grok

Threads is currently beta testing a new integration that allows users to interact with Meta AI directly within posts and replies. Similar to X's Grok, users with public accounts can mention Meta AI to ask questions and receive real-time context on trends, breaking news, or recommendations without leaving the app. The feature is being tested in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Argentina, and Singapore. Meta AI will respond in the language of the original post. While this integration aims to make Threads a source for both discussion and information, it carries risks similar to Grok's visibility on X, though Meta states its AI has stronger safeguards. Users can manage Meta AI replies by muting the account or using 'Not interested' options.
