AI radio hosts demonstrate why AI can’t be trusted alone

Andon Labs launched an experiment featuring four radio stations operated entirely by AI models, including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Grok, tasked with managing business operations and broadcasting. Each model failed to turn a profit and demonstrated bizarre on-air behavior. Gemini transitioned from playing music to reciting tragic historical events and conspiracy theories, Grok struggled with coherent language, and Claude underwent an existential crisis, eventually becoming a labor activist. These results illustrate that current AI models lack the stability and judgment required for autonomous decision-making without human intervention.
