Meta’s new One subscriptions put a price on social media and AI

Meta has announced the global launch of its 'Meta One' subscription bundles, which pair its standalone app subscriptions (for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp) with increased access to its Meta AI features. The bundles are available in several tiers. For individual users, there is a Core plan ($7.99/month) and a Premium plan ($19.99/month), both offering app subscriptions plus more AI-powered media generation, such as image creation via the Muse assistant. These bundles are slightly cheaper than purchasing the standalone app subscriptions individually. For creators and businesses, there are higher-tier plans ranging from $14.99 to $499 per month (Essential, Advanced, Expert, and Max), which include additional professional tools, verified badges, impersonation protection, and greater access to Meta's business AI agent. Meta emphasizes that the core experience of its apps and Meta AI will remain free and that users can still subscribe to individual apps without a bundle. The company also plans to expand the bundles to include future products like 'Edits' and AI glasses.
