Anthropic launches Claude Frontier Academy with a $100 million commitment to train 10,000 engineers by 2027, addressing the enterprise AI talent gap.

Summary

Anthropic is launching the Claude Frontier Academy with a $100 million commitment to train 10,000 Frontier Deployed Engineers (FDEs) by the end of 2027. The academy, the first of its kind from an AI company, aims to solve the talent shortage in enterprise AI implementation. The first program, the Frontier Deployed Engineer Residency, follows a medical training model: engineers learn from practitioners, practice on simulated enterprise deployments, and are assessed before earning credentials. Participants are nominated by their organizations and must have strong software engineering fundamentals and experience with LLMs. The program includes a multi-day in-person session and a 12-week residency where engineers lead a real Claude project at their company. The first cohorts, drawn from firms like Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley, and Novo Nordisk, are already running in San Francisco, New York, and London. The academy builds on the Claude Partner Network, which has awarded over 175,000 certifications across 46,000 firms.
