GPT-6 and Intelligent UI for everyone

OpenAI is rolling out a new GPT-6 model in ChatGPT to its more than 1.2 billion weekly users, following last month's launch for paid customers. The headline feature is Intelligent UI, which lets ChatGPT answer questions using text, graphics, tappable buttons, forms, charts, and interactive experiences, choosing the format that best fits each query—such as side-by-side comparisons, interactive diagrams, maps for road trips, or recipes with timing guidance. Users can also ask ChatGPT to build small tools on the spot, like a savings calculator, bill splitter, or game. This is enabled by a library of native streamable components and a compiler that renders the interface progressively as the model generates it, supported by expanded training in design judgment. GPT-6 also begins answering while it continues to think, cutting wait time—for web-search questions, it starts answering 44% sooner on average than GPT-5.6 Instant—and improves web-search quality. Safety work includes better resistance to multi-turn jailbreak attempts, stronger protections against cyberattack, biological, and violent misuse, fewer unnecessary refusals, and more honest communication of its own limits. The rollout starts globally today for Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise tiers in the Chat tab, expands to Free and Go tiers tomorrow, and is powered by GPT-6 Sol for paid tiers and GPT-6 Luna for Free and Go. Work and Codex models are unchanged.
