OpenAI is rolling out an Intelligent UI feature in ChatGPT that adds interactive visuals like charts and buttons to its responses.

Summary

OpenAI is launching a new Intelligent UI feature in ChatGPT that allows the chatbot to answer questions with interactive visuals. The update, rolling out alongside GPT-6, enables ChatGPT to combine text responses with diagrams, charts, forms, tappable buttons, and more. OpenAI trained GPT-6 to decide when to generate interactive visuals over text and how to format them. Examples include a diagram of a seven-speed bicycle with interactive buttons, Mahjong tutorials with scrollable tile categories, and tools like retirement calculators or bill splitters generated in-line with responses. OpenAI announced its first GPT-6 models last month, and is now bringing the Sol and Luna versions to ChatGPT. Besides Intelligent UI, GPT-6 improves web searches, provides quicker partial answers, and shows stronger resistance to safety bypass attempts. The update rolls out globally today to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users, expanding to Go and free tiers on Thursday. Higher-tier subscribers get GPT-6 Sol, while Go and free users get GPT-6 Luna.
