Adobe Lightroom mobile can now open closed eyes in photos with a simple tap

Adobe Lightroom mobile now uses generative AI to open closed eyes in photos with a single tap.

Summary

Adobe announced that the mobile version of Lightroom, available for iOS, iPadOS, and Android, now allows users to open closed eyes in photos using generative AI with just one tap. When the app detects closed eyes in a photo, it presents an Open Eyes Quick Action icon. Unlike Photoshop Elements, which sources replacement eyes from another photo with mixed results, Lightroom's Open Eyes uses generative AI to match lighting and pose, and references other images of the same person in the user's Lightroom library to ensure accurate color, size, and shape. While similar fixes are possible in Photoshop, they are not one-tap or free. Free Lightroom mobile users can try the feature twice before being prompted to subscribe to an Adobe Creative Cloud plan.
