Claude Duet app is Anthropic’s bet on agents

Anthropic has launched Claude Duet, a new agent app aimed at professionals and small businesses, entering a crowded market that includes Meta Muse, OpenAI Dots, Hark, Instinct, Grok Bot, and Fo. Unlike personal assistants, Duet — built on the Claude Opus 5.5 model — focuses on work tasks such as building daily briefings, creating dashboards, and suggesting actions based on user data. It can complete tasks in the background via its own virtual machine and proactively delivers recommendations while monitoring ongoing tasks. Duet connects to over 6,000 connectors and plugins in the Claude Marketplace and can make online purchases via Stripe's Link wallet or Shopify's Shop Pay, though sensitive steps like payments require user approval. It won't trade securities or move money between accounts. Anthropic also added a classifier to prevent sensitive information leaks, with the agent declining requests for credit card numbers and government IDs by default. Claude Duet is available on iOS, Android, and the web through Claude.ai for Pro and Max customers in research preview, with a waitlist required.
