Anthropic essentially bans OpenClaw from Claude by making subscribers pay extra

Starting April 4th, Anthropic will no longer allow users to utilize their standard Claude subscription limits for third-party tools such as OpenClaw. Users wishing to continue using these integrations must now utilize a separate pay-as-you-go billing model or an API key. Anthropic stated that the change is necessary to manage infrastructure capacity and ensure sustainable service, noting that their subscription plans were not designed for the usage patterns of third-party agents. To compensate, the company is offering a one-time credit equivalent to the cost of a monthly plan and discounted usage bundles.
