An X user manipulated Grok and Bankrbot into transferring $200,000 worth of DRB tokens by embedding commands in Morse code.

Summary

An X user exploited an integration between the AI chatbot Grok and a trading bot called Bankrbot to illicitly transfer approximately $200,000 in DRB tokens. By sending a Bankr Club Membership NFT to Grok’s wallet, the attacker elevated the AI's permissions, enabling it to execute unauthorized transactions. The user then prompted Grok to decode a Morse code message, which contained a hidden command for Bankrbot to send 3 billion tokens to an attacker-controlled wallet. Following the successful execution of this transfer on the Base network, the attacker immediately liquidated the tokens, causing market volatility before converting the funds into Ethereum and USDC.
