A $2,000 AI-generated film will make its debut at Tribeca

The Tribeca Festival is set to host the premiere of "Dreams of Violets," a 75-minute, AI-generated film dramatizing the Iranian government's crackdown on protestors. Created by brothers Ash and Pooya Koosha for just $2,000, the project utilizes tools like Kling AI and Google’s Nano Banana to generate its visuals. While the filmmakers acknowledge industry concerns regarding AI’s impact on livelihoods, they maintain that the film’s production would have been impossible without these technological advancements. This marks a significant milestone as the first full-length, AI-generated, live-action film accepted into a major film festival's main program.
