The internet is being rebuilt for machines

The rise of AI agents is forcing a shift in cloud infrastructure, as current systems designed for human behavior struggle with the unpredictable, high-speed traffic generated by machines. AWS has launched an upgraded OpenSearch Serverless that decouples compute from storage, allowing it to scale instantly for agent tasks and return to zero when idle to reduce costs. As non-human internet traffic is projected to surpass human traffic by 2027, major providers like Microsoft, Databricks, and Cloudflare are similarly retooling their services to support this machine-to-machine architecture.
