AegisAI, founded by former Google security execs, lands $36M to stop AI-driven spear phishing

AegisAI, a cybersecurity startup founded by former Google security executives Cy Khormaee and Ryan Luo, has secured $36 million in a Series A funding round led by Battery Ventures, bringing its total capital to $49 million. The company utilizes AI agents to detect and neutralize sophisticated, AI-driven spear phishing attacks that often bypass traditional rule-based email security systems. Less than a year after its launch, AegisAI has already gained dozens of enterprise customers, including Mash and LangChain, as businesses increasingly face automated and personalized email threats.
