Microsoft launches its first cybersecurity model, plus a new agentic cybersecurity system

Microsoft unveiled its first cybersecurity-specialized model, MAI-Cyber-1-Flash, alongside a new AI platform called Perception during an event in San Francisco. The MAI-Cyber-1-Flash model is designed to detect challenging vulnerabilities in complex codebases and is integrated into Microsoft's MDASH harness. Meanwhile, Perception deploys teams of AI agents—red, blue, and green teams—to automate security workflows, simulate attacks, detect bugs, and implement corrective actions. Led by executives like Mustafa Suleyman and Hayete Gallot, Microsoft claims the new tools outperform competitors on key benchmarks and aim to help enterprises defend against AI-driven cyberattacks at scale.
