UNDP and DFINITY Foundation Collaborate on Exploring Sovereign Cloud Infrastructure and Decentralized AI Deployment for Public Good

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the DFINITY Foundation have announced a partnership to explore sovereign cloud infrastructure and decentralized artificial intelligence for public-purpose digital transformation. Working through the UNDP Alternative Finance Lab (AltFinLab), the initiative features three core workstreams: supporting UNDP Country Offices via the SDG Blockchain Accelerator, building civil society capacity through the Future of Work Academy, and co-designing pilot frameworks with public institutions through the Government Blockchain Academy. Utilizing tools like DFINITY's Cloud Engines and Caffeine AI platform, the collaboration aims to help governments and organizations securely build and maintain digital services, protect sensitive data, and overcome traditional infrastructure constraints while ensuring responsible, people-centered technological adoption.
