This NAS company wants to run your local smart home

At IFA, Ugreen announced HomeAgent, a smart home platform centered on a hub that runs local AI and acts as a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device. The system aims to address privacy and subscription concerns by keeping data and video processing on-device, managed by a voice assistant named Uliya. It integrates with Matter for cross-brand device compatibility and supports various protocols. Ugreen also launched compatible security cameras and a smart speaker. While offering features like cross-camera tracking and natural language control, some functions like remote viewing still require internet. The platform will launch on Kickstarter in October.
