The Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA), formed by merging SkillsFuture Singapore and Workforce Singapore, announced new initiatives at the SkillsFuture Festival 2026. Over 200 AI courses were launched to cater to various learning needs, from basic application to advanced capabilities. Eligible Singapore citizens aged 18 and above who enroll in these courses receive a complimentary six-month subscription to premium AI tools like ChatGPT Plus, Google AI Pro, and Microsoft 365 Personal. A new integrated career support centre, Connect by SWDA, was opened at the Lifelong Learning Institute, aiming to combine learning, career guidance, and employment support. Additionally, a one-stop portal, OurWorkforce, was launched for employers to discover training courses and workforce development solutions. Prime Minister Lawrence Wong emphasized that while AI will reshape jobs, the government aims to equip citizens with skills to adapt and seize new opportunities. Acting Manpower Minister Jasmin Lau highlighted the importance of making AI learning accessible to build confidence in the changing work environment.
