Google’s new ‘CC’ is an AI agent that helps families run their households

Google is testing a new version of its AI agent, CC, now focused on helping families run their households. CC works across email, calendar, chats, and tasks to coordinate family schedules, plan daily activities, and manage specific tasks like signing permission slips, creating shopping lists, and planning meals. It connects to a dedicated Google account, allowing up to six family members to share relevant information (like school emails, appointments, and events) automatically or via forwarding. CC can then track dates, add items to a shared calendar or task list, and perform actions such as filling out forms and planning weekly meals. The service runs on a separate cloud computer powered by Gemini, is currently available only to U.S. users aged 18 and up with a personal Gmail account, and existing users will receive upgrade invitations while new users can join a waitlist.
