Facebook will let you customize your feed algorithm using AI

Facebook has launched a new feature called "Your Algorithm" that allows users to directly customize their feed algorithm using AI. Users can add and manage topics they want to see in their feed and Facebook Reels, and provide feedback by marking topics or posts as "interested" or "not interested." Meta states that recommendations respond immediately to these adjustments. The feature, previously available on Instagram and through a similar "Dear Algo" tool on Threads, can be accessed via the three-dots menu on posts and may include follow-up questions for more detail. Meta is also integrating large language models (LLMs) more deeply into its ranking systems, enabling users to describe in natural language what they want to see more or less of, with the algorithm adapting in real time within the same session. This is part of Meta's broader effort to offer AI-powered customization tools across its platforms.
