Apple has announced that it will bring Apple Intelligence to China with iOS 27.3, starting with a beta release on November 4th and a full release in December. The initial rollout includes earlier features such as notification summaries, real-time translation, rewriting and proofreading tools, visual intelligence, and object removal in photos, but does not include the new Siri AI. Apple has partnered with Alibaba to integrate its Qwen chatbot into some experiences, similar to the ChatGPT integration launched in 2024. Apple Intelligence was approved in China in July, and Apple reportedly trained a custom LLM specifically for the Chinese market.
