Netflix will show you themed recommendations through a new ‘AI Discover’ tab

Netflix’s TV app is introducing an “AI Discover” tab that showcases experimental AI-powered features to help users find new shows and movies. The first experiment offers theme-based recommendations such as “Something Light,” “Family Movie Night,” or “Quick Watches.” Users can provide feedback on recommendations, which the app remembers to improve future suggestions. The feature is powered by a new intelligence layer that responds to user input in real time. The “Discover” tab is gradually rolling out in the US to members using Netflix in English on supported TVs. This launch follows Netflix’s recent layoff of around 1,000 employees amid slowing growth and reported declines in viewership.
