Meta introduces Spaces, a new way to collaborate with your Muse agent

TechCrunch
Meta launches Spaces, breakout conversations within Muse agents that let users organize projects and collaborate with AI on specific goals.

Summary

Meta has introduced Spaces, a new feature for its Muse AI agents that lets users create dedicated breakout conversations around specific topics or projects. Located in the sidebar of the Muse interface, Spaces function as what Meta calls "custom experiences" where users can describe an idea in chat and have Muse build a tracker, planner, or project board for them, such as a vacation planner, recipe collection, holiday gift tracker, wedding planner, or DIY project space. Spaces can also integrate with third-party apps, keeping information like concert dates, price changes, or savings progress updated automatically in the background. CEO Mark Zuckerberg promoted the feature on X, noting he has built a BBQ game, event tracker, and home control dashboard with it. The launch follows a warm reception for Muse agents, which Zuckerberg said reached 10 million users in the U.S. and Canada less than two months after debuting. Spaces is Meta's second Muse feature in a week, following the announcement of Muse Voice, which enables video chats and verbal commands with agents. Meta is competing with other personified AI agents such as OpenAI's dots and SpaceXAI's Grokbot.
