X says it will suspend creators from revenue-sharing program for unlabeled AI posts of ‘armed conflict’

X announced that it will suspend creators from its Creator Revenue Sharing Program for 90 days if they post AI-generated videos depicting armed conflict without disclosing the content is synthetic. Nikita Bier, X's head of product, stated this action is critical during wartime to ensure access to authentic information, noting that AI makes it trivial to create misleading content. Repeat offenders face permanent suspension from the program. X plans to identify these misleading posts using generative AI detection tools and its Community Notes fact-checking system. While this targets misinformation during conflict, the policy does not address the use of unlabeled AI media for political misinformation or deceptive product promotion outside of war zones.
