Google’s Gemini AI is getting a bigger role across Docs, Sheets, and Slides

Google is significantly increasing Gemini AI’s presence within its Workspace suite, including Docs, Sheets, and Slides. Users will gain access to a Gemini chat window within Docs for draft generation and formatting, with the ability to match existing document styles. Editing features are enhanced with style matching and inline suggestions. In Sheets, Gemini can now generate entire spreadsheets and fill tables with data from various sources. Slides will allow users to generate and edit individual slides with AI assistance, and soon, entire presentations. Drive is also receiving an AI Overview feature for more intelligent search results and a new “Ask Gemini in Drive” function. These updates aim to provide AI assistance directly within users’ workflows, leveraging data from Drive, Gmail, Chat, and the web, while maintaining enterprise-grade data protections.
