Higher usage limits for Claude and a compute deal with SpaceX

Anthropic has secured a significant compute capacity deal with SpaceX, agreeing to utilize all compute capacity at their Colossus 1 data center, which will provide over 300 megawatts of new capacity within the month. This partnership, along with other recent compute agreements with Amazon, Google, Broadcom, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Fluidstack, enables Anthropic to increase usage limits for Claude Code and the Claude API. Specifically, Claude Code's five-hour rate limits for Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans are being doubled, and the peak hours limit reduction for Pro and Max accounts is being removed. API rate limits for Claude Opus models have also been considerably raised. Anthropic is also exploring a partnership with SpaceX to develop orbital AI compute capacity. The company is also expanding internationally to meet enterprise customer needs for in-region infrastructure, focusing on democratic countries with secure supply chains and supportive legal frameworks. Anthropic has also committed to covering consumer electricity price increases caused by their US data centers and is exploring similar commitments for international expansion.
