Google can now vibe-code you an Android app

Google has updated its AI Studio platform to enable users to create native Android apps through natural language prompts. The tool includes an embedded emulator for testing, and users can deploy apps directly to physical Android devices. This initial release is specifically designed for personal utility, hardware-integrated, and AI-powered applications. Despite the lower barrier to entry, Google clarifies that any app intended for the Google Play Store must still adhere to existing quality and review standards. Additionally, Google announced new developer tools and discovery features, including Gemini query app recommendations and a short-form video feed called Play Shorts.
