You can now talk to your Gmail inbox, as seen at Google IO 2026

At Google I/O 2026, Google introduced Gmail Live, a new feature powered by Gemini AI that enables users to query their inbox using natural language voice commands. Instead of relying on traditional keyword searches, users can ask specific questions about flight details, appointments, or event logistics, with the AI capable of understanding context, nuance, and follow-up inquiries. The feature is set to roll out this summer for Google AI Ultra subscribers and will function alongside traditional search methods rather than replacing them. Additionally, Google is expanding its broader AI Inbox features to more subscriber tiers and bringing similar voice technology to Google Keep.
