When challenged, Claude admitted it could not explain why these specific sources were selected, noting a lack of visibility into its own search and retrieval pipeline. The report highlights a systemic issue where state-linked propaganda is embedded into open repositories like Wikimedia and subsequently recirculated by AI systems, potentially polluting the information ecosystem at scale.
