MUFG aims to become AI-native with OpenAI

MUFG, a major Japanese financial group, is collaborating with OpenAI to transform into an AI-native organization. By rolling out ChatGPT Enterprise to approximately 35,000 employees at Mitsubishi UFJ Bank, the company aims to move beyond simple efficiency gains, instead fostering a culture where AI augments human creativity and decision-making. Through mandatory training, internal "AI champions," and the creation of custom "AI bankers," MUFG has already seen significant workflow reductions and increased operational productivity. Looking ahead, the bank intends to leverage OpenAI’s technology to offer personalized, conversational financial services through platforms like its digital bank and advisory apps.
