Chinese cybercrime operation that used AI to scam ‘hundreds of thousands of victims’ sued by Google

Google has filed a lawsuit against Outsider Enterprise, a China-based cybercrime network accused of using AI-powered software to facilitate large-scale phishing scams. The group sold a “phishing-for-dummies” suite that enabled criminals to create fake websites impersonating major brands, ultimately stealing millions of dollars and sensitive data from hundreds of thousands of individuals. By collaborating with the FBI and telecommunications providers, Google aims to dismantle this infrastructure, which allegedly deployed over a million fraudulent domains to compromise credit cards and personal credentials globally.
