Hermes agent maker Nous Research in talks for new funding at $1.5B valuation

Nous Research, the developer of the popular open-source Hermes AI agent, is reportedly in negotiations to secure new funding at a $1.5 billion valuation. The startup aims to raise at least $75 million, just months after closing a $50 million Series A round. Investors participating in this new round include Robot Ventures and USV.

Founded in 2023, the company has gained significant traction with Hermes, an AI agent capable of executing complex tasks such as web searching and coding. The platform, which boasts a large following on GitHub, offers both local execution and cloud-hosted versions to provide flexibility for its users. The new capital will be used to further scale its product offerings and refine its business model.
