NVIDIA & Others Form The Open Secure AI Alliance - Phoronix

NVIDIA, alongside Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, Red Hat, SpaceX, and other major technology companies, has established the Open Secure AI Alliance. Built upon the Linux Foundation's Akrites initiative and OpenSSF, the alliance aims to improve the security, vulnerability remediation, and safe usage of open-source artificial intelligence models. Prompted by recent security incidents like the one at Hugging Face, the coalition highlights the critical need for transparent, open-weight frontier AI tools that allow cyber defenders to inspect, adapt, and run systems on their own infrastructure to prevent single points of failure across a multi-vendor ecosystem.
