OpenAI drags Apple’s lawsuit into the court of public opinion

OpenAI has publicly challenged Apple's recent lawsuit accusing the company of stealing trade secrets, calling the legal action careless, aggressive, and personal. In a blog post titled "Apple is getting this wrong," OpenAI shared email and iMessage exchanges to refute allegations involving former Apple employees Chang Liu and Tang Tan, who now work at OpenAI. Apple had previously filed a lawsuit claiming Liu and Tan took confidential information regarding unreleased technologies and requested a preliminary injunction. OpenAI denied possessing or wanting any Apple trade secrets, arguing that Apple's claims are based on false information, common system access oversights by Apple, and misdirected communications.
