Google’s Gemini rolls out Canvas in AI mode to all US users

Google has expanded access to Canvas in AI Mode to all U.S. users in English, following its initial launch in Google Labs. This feature is designed to help users organize projects and conduct research by allowing them to draft documents or create custom tools directly within Google Search's AI Mode. Users can describe an idea, and Canvas will generate code for a shareable app or game, refine creative writing, or transform research into different formats like quizzes or web pages. Access is granted by selecting the Canvas option from the tool menu (+) within AI Mode, enabling users to pull information from the web and Knowledge Graph. This broader rollout leverages Google Search's massive user base, placing the tool in front of users who may not subscribe to Gemini's premium tiers like Gemini Advanced.
