OpenAI models, Codex, and Managed Agents come to AWS

OpenAI and AWS are deepening their strategic partnership to enable enterprises to leverage OpenAI's advanced AI capabilities within their existing AWS environments. This expansion includes the launch of OpenAI models, including GPT-5.5, on Amazon Bedrock, allowing customers to build AI applications with familiar AWS infrastructure, security, and compliance. Additionally, Codex, OpenAI's coding harness, is now available on Amazon Bedrock, enabling developers to use its powerful coding and productivity tools within AWS, with customer data processed by Bedrock and usage potentially counting towards AWS commitments. The partnership also introduces Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents, powered by OpenAI, which simplify the creation and deployment of agents for complex business workflows by handling infrastructure, tool use, and governance, thus accelerating the path from experimentation to production for enterprises.
